Welcome to the BoatBoys Help section.  This is where we’ll show you how to find your way around the site and how the BoatBoys website works.  Listed below are the different areas you will need to know about to use this site to its full potential.

 

Join Now

When you click on the Join Now text at the top right of the page, you can select BoatBoys registration or Service user registration. Read below about registration types.

 

Boatboys Registration

Joining as a BoatBoy is for employees looking for work.  So, if it is employment you seek, click the Boatboys registration and fill out the required information for our management team.  Have your IRD number available, as well as your mobile phone number, CV, a good profile picture and a list of your tools that you have for your specialty trade.  BoatBoys registration is free & your temporary employment is subject to approval.>

 

Service user Registration (Boat owners & Companies)

This is where you can fill out the required forms to become a verified member/user of the BoatBoys website.  Once joined up, you will have the ability to post jobs in the our jobs section.  If urgent it will be displayed on the home page and suitable people will be notified by SMS. Basically, people who are ready to go can apply for the job and that’s it!  Affordable skilled labour only a click away!

 

Login

Once you have joined BoatBoys you will then be able to use the login feature located at the top right of the menu bar.  To Login you will need to select your registration type, enter your email address followed by your password.  Done!

 

Bookings (for suitable labour)

At the top of the BoatBoys homepage you will see a search bar & also a directory tab.  Search the trade skill you need and try to be specific to the best of your knowledge with what you require, call us for assistance if your not sure.  Once you have found a suitable tradesperson, check their availability, feedback & skills.  When you are happy with your selection, press the book me button then proceed to the payment gateway to make your $100.00(nzd) deposit for final confirmation. Done!

 

Employment forms

Once signed up as a BoatBoy you can contact our team via email & we will get back to you as soon as possible.  If you have any queries regarding your employment contract or payment feel free to call our team to clarify.  All associated forms for your employment will be found in this section. Kiwi saver, IR330, Time sheets etc.

 

 

Questions & Answers

Can I work a full time job & get work from for BoatBoys when I am free?

Yes you can, you can work on your available days, weekends, holidays etc. Just email or call and we will let your availability known.

 

What happens when I get a full time job & can’t work for BoatBoys?

Contact us and we will make you unavailable on the website.  We will hold your profile for the future but keep you advertised incase you seek further opportunities. Just let us know and we will roll with you!

How do I get my holiday pay?

It is included in your weekly pay.  It is not incurred and held by BoatBoys at any stage.

 

When do I receive my pay-slip?

Weekly in the form of an email.

 

How do I adjust my hourly rate?

Contact us, we will change it for you.

 

Do I get paid public holidays?

No, Your employment is temporary.  BoatBoys do not pay public holidays to its temporary employee’s unless previously agreed on by a client that has booked you on a public holiday.

 

How do I stop my employment?

Contact us, we will remove all your details no strings attached.

 

How do I work full time for the service user that has hired me?

Tell us when you would like to start, we will charge the service user one weeks pay & then your free to do as you please. Done!

 

Do BoatBoys pay for materials & safety gear?

No, the service user pays for all materials & your safety equipment.

 

When do I get paid?

The working week is Monday-Friday, your pay will be processed on Wednesday.  Please allow two days processing time for non ASB Bank accounts.

My pay didn’t go through? What has happened?

·       Is your time sheet signed and sent back before Tuesday?
·       Has your time sheet been signed off by the service user?
·       Payment will take two days if your bank is not ASB Bank.
·       Have you filled out the Kiwi-saver & IRD forms corectly?
·       Is the bank account number you have submitted correct?
