I decided to surprise my hubby while he was away by having the boat polished up for summer after such a wet and dreary winter. Hit the Boat Boys website and left a message for Mike Vitali. Mike got right back and quickly had the job assessed, a quote given and away we went. His team were keen & kept me informed all the time about the date, time and progress of the job. I went out to inspect while it was under way. Wow! the boat was shrouded in plastic wrap where needed to protect the canvas and clears and work well underway to restore the oxidised fibreglass surfaces. Their van was alongside the work berth, professionally painted, neat, filled with lotions and potions for the facelift. Impressed! They let me know when the job was complete and invited my inspection. These guys love their work, take pride, are keen, competent and professional. A refreshing change from the usual tardy tradesmen. And the finished job - great! what improvement, nice, shiny, clean -very pleased. Can't wait to show the boss! Should be worth dinner out eh! Highly recommend these guys. Thanks Mike and team.

We had the usual problem in that we were about to have the owners on board for all December in Sydney, we had a berth at the Rocks right under the harbour bridge and knew that we would be on show, though we hadnt had a paint job since launch in 2004 and the boss wanted us to look immaculate. Our hull was heavily oxidised and soot stained the porous paint very easily, and due to the overhanging counter, the exhausts are placed amidships right next the tender boarding platform. Not a great look considering most of our VIPs would be arriving by tender. Having polished the hull a year ago, we were debating whether to do it again knowing that we were going into refit in January. We called Mike to ask his advice and I was blown away by his intimate knowledge of paint and its ability to be resurfaced. We did a couple of test patches right next to the exhaust and Mikes system was far and away superior in terms of gloss and most importantly ease of cleaning. The soot on the hull washed straight off. Admittedly the surface still required maintenance though this was much easier and produced a much better result than that of our previous system. When the owner arrived he was so impressed with the look of Athena, in comparison to the last time that he had seen her in September, that he said to the skipper it was the best he had seen Athena look in years and he ended up questioning why we were booked in for a paint job.
